So you've cut your hair, did the BIG CHOP, and hopefully are enjoying your new short mane. Or maybe you're looking for way to embrace and style your new short hair. Well, I Big Chopped two weeks, ago and let me tell you. I am seriously loving my short hair. It's probably the best decision I've made in a really long time. You can watch my BIG CHOP Here. Today, I've put together 5 fun ways I've been wearing my short do', plus ways I hope to wear it and hopefully give you some ideas on how to wear your newly short mane to keep things fresh and interesting.
Lipstick: Mac Viva Glam II
I wish I could take credit for this, but my mama wear blue eyeliner on her bottom eyelids and it looks amazing on her, so I thought I'd give it a try. I don't wear eye makeup on the regular, but a smokey eye or a fun liner is a great way to make your eyes pop, adding some dimension to your look.
Earrings: Anjolee c/o
I love wearing my hair without products, where it's very wild and "frowy" is that a word? I must admit, I do get bored with that after a day or two, so I attempted to try the "faux hawk" by tapering the sides of my hair with bobby pins, that makes me look much cooler than I am.
I love embracing my new TWA, but for a little something extra, a statement earring add a fun element to my look. I think a fun statement necklace could very well work here.
I rarely wore hair ribbons when my hair was relaxed and long; with my new short hair, I think a ribbon or hair accessory is perfect to add a little something extra to your look. I plan on purchasing some cute hair bands and clips, but for the purpose of this post, I grabbed a belt from a dress, which works also.
Last but not least, I love wearing my TWA with a bright colored lipstick. I am wearing Mac's lady danger it is seriously my new favorite. Because the lipstick is so bright, I opted for minimal jewelry, for a simple yet, sophisticated look.
That's it folks! I had a blast writing this post, and I hope you found it helpful. I realize not all of my readers are natural haired, but if you have natural hair or TWA, How do you spice up your short hair? let me know in the comments section below. And if you try any of these looks, tag me on instagram, I'd love to see it.

The weather is starting to get colder now, and while I still plan on wearing my peplum skirts, my days of wearing sleeveless tops are numbered. This gorgeous peplum skirt is on sale, and I'm pretty bummed because I waited too long to purchase in blue. This weekend, I am going to do some fall cleaning and bring out my sweaters, coats and boots. Speaking of sweaters, THIS one will be on repeat this fall.
Have a good day!

When Cocotique reached out to me to try out one of their subscription boxes, I was game for several reasons. I've tried a few subscriptions boxes in the past and I've loved them. COCOTIQUE however is catered to women of diverse ethnicities, which is something I feel is specific to me, so I know it'll most likely work for me. I was also sold to the fact that Nicole Ari Parker hand selected this month's box and that's pretty awesome because I really liked her in Soul Food.
The awesome team over at COCOTIQUE is giving one lucky reader a chance to win this month's box. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Enter below using the rafflecopter. For extra entries, see my instagram. *us residents ony

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was especially relaxing. Work has been extra hectic lately, and this weekend's rest was just what my body needed. I was finally able to go through photos from my birthday Sex and the City Themed Brunch from last Sunday at Loring Kitchen and Bar. Since my birthday fell on a Sunday this year, I thought it'd be fun to have brunch with my friends, Sex and the City Style.
Personally, I think I'm a mixture of Carrie and Charlotte; and I attempted to channel Carries's Tulle Skirt with my Organza Skirt from Forever21.
This was the one of the best birthdays I've had in a while. Having my closest friends celebrate with me sharing laughs, girl talk and doing life together was simply a blast. I'm so grateful for uplifting friends.
I hope you all enjoy these photos and thanks so much for stopping by!

I wore this outfit a few Sundays back for icecream in celebration of a friends birthday. I love the easyness of this outfit. This white lace top has quickly become a staple for me, and I'm excited to layer it for fall as the weather is cooling off.
Have a great weekend!
