Holiday Gift Guide for the Beauty Babe

gift ideas for mom, beauty gift ideas, benefit they're real mascara, more issues than vogue, beauty junkie

Can you guys believe it's November already? Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing holiday gift guides for everyone on your list! From mom, dad, besties, siblings, boyfriends, to everyone in between, so be sure to check back weekly for more gift guides. First up is the Gift Guide for the beauty babe in your life.
I've always admired women who always, I mean, always look put together with a perfectly made up face. I enjoy makeup at times, and building my beauty regimen is something I'm constantly working on. When it comes to make up, I tend to focus on my eyes. There's just something about a perfectly lined eye and full lush lashes I love, and this benefit "they're real" Mascara is one of my favorites.  I prefer a natural look with my eye makeup and this Naked Basic Pallet is perfect for keeping things neutral this winter or any season really.
Now you know I can't talk about makeup without talking about skin care. Great skin care regimen is so important to allow your makeup to look fresh without looking cakey. Which is why I love my Clarisonic Mia2 so much because it cleans my face and removes makeup more than a towelette ever could. If you have or know someone who owns a Clarisonic, trust me a replacement brush is sure to be a hit.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Natural Hair: Favorite Products for my TWA

cantu leave in, kinky curly knot today, curls defining serum, carols daughter heat spray, herbal essences, beautiful textures curl defining pudding, coconut oil for natural hair
Making the decision to go natural is one thing, and maintaining your natural hair is a whole other story as natural hair products can be quite costly. Especially since there are lots of amazing brands out there and becoming a product junkie is not a hard thing to do.  I've gotten a few questions on my Instagram regarding products I use, and seeing how I've been natural for going on only two months, I try to limit my product use to really figure out what my hair likes rather than overloading my hair with products. Let's overview-

1) Apple Cider Vinegar: I love cleansing my hair with ACV once to twice a month. Products tend to build up, and it really helps to cleanse your scalp. If you don't know, ACV has a harsh smell, so I suggest diluting with water in a spray bottle.
2) Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo/Conditioner:  I love this product for several reasons. It smells good, hydrating, and very inexpensive. I tend to co-wash (washing hair with conditioner, rather than shampoo) my hair, so I run through the conditioner much faster.
3) Kinky Curly Knot Today: This stuff is the TRUTH! I started using KCKT when I was transitioning and my hair was seriously tangled all the time. It helped so much. I honestly think that it works whether you are relaxed, transitioning or natural. I love it so much, I purchased a bottle for my sisters because my baby sis cries a lot on wash days. I wish this product was around when I was growing up.
4) Cantu Leave In Conditioner: I randomly started using this product after I "borrowed" it from my mother's bathroom. Her and my sisters never used it, so I helped myself to it. I love how soft it leaves my hair and it smells good too.  Depending on the style, I alternate this and KCKT.

5) Curls release defining serum: This stuff is the ISH. Yes, I said ISH. This stuff curls my hair right up like no other! It is my absolute favorite product right now. I get better definition when I use it with my denman brush for my wash and gos. Let me know if you would like to see a tutorial of my Wash and Gos.

6) Carol's Daughter Heat Production Spray: I rarely use heat on my hair, so this product will last me a very long time. When I am pressed for time, I spray a bit of this protection spray and sit under my hooded dryer.

7) Coconut Oil: Honestly, I am not partial to this brand. I just happened to grab it at my local grocery store. It's pure coconut oil, so I use it to seal my hair and also for separating my coils and curls to minimize frizz.
8) ORS Deep Conditioner: Besides making my own conditioners, which is something I rarely do. I love this ORS DC. I actually have been using it way before I was natural. It leaves my hair soft and moisturized which I love.

9) Beautiful Textures Curl Control Defining Pudding: I used this product for my braid outs when I was transitioning and continue to do so now that I am natural. I love that it provides me my hair a hold but not that of a gel.

A Few Tips: If you're newly natural like myself, I suggest subscribing to monthly subscription services such as Curlbox or Cocotique. They're usually 20-25 dollars a month and it's a great way to discover new brands at a reasonable price.

I'd love to hear from you guys, so feel free to leave me comments and questions you may have and share some products you're currently using and loving.

Happy Hump day y'all. So can I just say how excited I am about my hair?! I finally figured out a routine that works for my wash and go's which gives my hair pretty awesome definition of my curls. The proof is in the curls. For this look, I initially wanted to do an all black look, but I thought the leopard complemented my coat which is on sale by the way. I absolutely love the color and I may or may not have worn it every day last week. It's getting older by the seconds it seems like and having a beautiful coat to keep me warm is pretty much one of the only things that makes me want to step outside. Speaking of stepping out, I'm flying to Birmingham and Atlanta next week for 8 days and I'm pretty excited to catch up with friends, enjoy the weather and eat some country food.

Happy Monday loves and Happy New Month. Raise your hands if you can't believe November is upon us. Like seriously, the thought of Christmas being here in less than two months is crazy to me. I can't complain though because it's been a great year.  I'm already planning my holiday shopping guide for the season so be on the look out for my gift guides for everyone on your list.
Now on to my outfit. This coat is by far one of my favorites. I love the cool camel color, the neutrality of it, and I love that it's very streamlined, making it oh so sophisticated. For this look, I really wanted to keep things neutral, making the skirt the focal point of my outfit.

Thanks so much for stopping.

I've been MIA for a while. I needed to step back and prioritize a bit.  The first Jcrew Factory  store opened up this past summer and I purchased this gorgeous Olive Green Blazer during my visit there. I love the fit of it and not to mention the gold buttons. Now that it's official Fall, I've pulled out my favorite old handbag from TJMaxx. I've had this bag for almost two years and as you can see from the looks of it, I've worn it quite a bit. The color is so Fall perfect, and it's oh so durable. It's definitely a keeper in my book. I hope you all have been well! xx

It's been radio silence here on the blog for a few weeks.  Having just quit my job, it appears I have more free time on my hands, yet I've been occupied with other aspects of life.  Now that it's Fall officially, I've been gravitating towards my darker hued handbags. I seriously don't wear this bag enough. Speaking of enough, this is the only pair of jeans I own that I actually like and wear, and now that it's fall, I need to stock up on denim,
