I have a pretty colorful wardrobe; and in as much as I love color, I much prefer a neutral color palette for my room. I started out with white comforter and let's say keeping white comforter as white as possible was a tad bit difficult, so I settled on this Grey Comforter. I love the textured feel to it. I'm sorta borderline obsessed with throw pillows and literally have to talk myself out of purchasing new pillows every time I walk into a TJMaxx or HomeGoods store. I purchased this Gold Foil Pillow as an accent from Nordstrom (they have a bunch of other options here), however when I saw the GREY Ruffle Pillow at TJMaxx, I needed to have it simply because it blends in perfectly. Don't you think?
I'm very non traditional in my decorating, meaning I don't feel the need to have two night stands and the glass table I am using as a night stand is actually a small glass coffee table, which was a consignment store purchase for under 40 dollars. My mother gifted me this beautiful floral plate that I use to store my Earrings and rings in before heading to bed. This table also has racks underneath which I use to store magazines.
As you can see, my bedroom is pretty neutral. I opted for pops of color via decorative accents such as my lamp (from HomeGoods) and other wall furnishings.
In the next post, I'll share with you guys how I store my shoes, accessories and such. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you guys enjoyed this post!

I've had a Pinterest account for a year now; it wasn't until recently I began utilizing my account. I love that pinterest has a wide variety of inspiration from home decor, photography, recipes, fashion;I mean I could go on. It's the mother of all virtual boards, with endless inspiration. I recently moved to a new apartment and Pinterest has been a huge source of inspiration in decorating my new room. I'll be doing a room tour some time next week, so be sure to stop by.
Living Area

My wardrobe is pretty colorful, but when it comes to my bedroom I much prefer a neutral pallette. Think lots of whites and grays. To inject some color, I opt for flowers, wall accents and decorative pillows. My thought process is to enjoy having a white bedroom while I can since I don't yet have any children.

My relationship with food is somewhat  unstable. I seldom cook, even though I do enjoy cooking from time to time. Although, If I had to choose between purchasing food and clothes, I'd pick clothes every time. Now, you see where my priorities lie. (covers face) When I am in the mood to cook, I enjoy a good Alfredo Pasta, nutella crepe and salmon fried rice.

Besides my Home Decor boards, my Food board has to be my next favorite. Because it inspires me to try new foods and eat somewhat healthy. I recently went to Georgia and had the best Cajun Seafood Pasta and was beyond excited to find a similar recipe that I cant wait to try.

Are you guys on Pinterest? Leave your pinterest handle in the comment section so I can follow you guys. I'm always looking for new sources of inspiration. You can also follow My Boards to see what I am currently inspired by.

It took about ten minutes if not less to shoot these photographs since the weather condition wasn't the best, temperature wise. I have to say, there's something about a pop of red against the fresh white snow that I absolutely adore.

Excuse the radio silence on my blog lately. Having moved, plus the holidays have made it difficult to keep blogging, and these frigid temperatures most certainly  don't help either. I'm slowly getting my groove back though, slowly. I promise.
I hope your 2015 has been off to a great start. There's nothing like a brand new year, to put things into perspective. While, I try not to make new years resolutions, I set personal and professional goals that I aim to accomplish each year or each quarter even. Call me crazy but the feeling of writing a list and checking things off is incredible to me. What's on my list for 2015?  A little more travel, being intentional with my finances, spending  more time with Jesus, eating healthier, and reading for leisure. I recently started reading The Alchemist, and I can't get enough, and blog more this year, of course. What about you guys? Do you make resolutions, lists? If so, I'd love to hear some of yours!

Have a great week!

12 days of Christmas: Silver Jeans Giveaway

Hey beautiful people!
My postings have been far and few in between lately, and it seriously seems like time is going so fast! Two more weeks until Christmas. It hasn't hit me yet; as last year, my Christmas shopping was completed at this time, I digress. So Silver Jeans is giving not one but TWO lucky winners a pair of jeans.
Silver Jeans was one of the items I remember "spending" money on.  I was a freshman in college and I desperately wanted a pair of silver jeans. I actually ended up getting two pairs of skinnys in light and dark wash. It's so funny because I can still remember how confident I felt in those jeans; they fit me like a glove and I actually saved up for them.

I'm wearing the AIKO Mid skinny denim here, and I love the fit and the length of it. Jeans aren't the most fun thing to shop for so when I find jeans that has the perfect length, definitely makes me happy.

I didnt have time to shoot actual outfit photos, but I can't end the this post without talking about their JOGA jeans. Yep, Joga, like yoga. They are probably the most comfortable pair of jeans I've ever put on. You know how sometimes you want to sit comfortably, watch a movie and cross your legs on the couch? With the joga jeans, you sit like a boy if you want to and be comfortable. It's soo soft and comfy. Enter below on the rafflecopter to win you a pair of Silver jeans. I would definitely recommend the Joga jeans.

Holiday Gift Guide for the Beauty Babe

gift ideas for mom, beauty gift ideas, benefit they're real mascara, more issues than vogue, beauty junkie

Can you guys believe it's November already? Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing holiday gift guides for everyone on your list! From mom, dad, besties, siblings, boyfriends, to everyone in between, so be sure to check back weekly for more gift guides. First up is the Gift Guide for the beauty babe in your life.
I've always admired women who always, I mean, always look put together with a perfectly made up face. I enjoy makeup at times, and building my beauty regimen is something I'm constantly working on. When it comes to make up, I tend to focus on my eyes. There's just something about a perfectly lined eye and full lush lashes I love, and this benefit "they're real" Mascara is one of my favorites.  I prefer a natural look with my eye makeup and this Naked Basic Pallet is perfect for keeping things neutral this winter or any season really.
Now you know I can't talk about makeup without talking about skin care. Great skin care regimen is so important to allow your makeup to look fresh without looking cakey. Which is why I love my Clarisonic Mia2 so much because it cleans my face and removes makeup more than a towelette ever could. If you have or know someone who owns a Clarisonic, trust me a replacement brush is sure to be a hit.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Natural Hair: Favorite Products for my TWA

cantu leave in, kinky curly knot today, curls defining serum, carols daughter heat spray, herbal essences, beautiful textures curl defining pudding, coconut oil for natural hair
Making the decision to go natural is one thing, and maintaining your natural hair is a whole other story as natural hair products can be quite costly. Especially since there are lots of amazing brands out there and becoming a product junkie is not a hard thing to do.  I've gotten a few questions on my Instagram regarding products I use, and seeing how I've been natural for going on only two months, I try to limit my product use to really figure out what my hair likes rather than overloading my hair with products. Let's overview-

1) Apple Cider Vinegar: I love cleansing my hair with ACV once to twice a month. Products tend to build up, and it really helps to cleanse your scalp. If you don't know, ACV has a harsh smell, so I suggest diluting with water in a spray bottle.
2) Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo/Conditioner:  I love this product for several reasons. It smells good, hydrating, and very inexpensive. I tend to co-wash (washing hair with conditioner, rather than shampoo) my hair, so I run through the conditioner much faster.
3) Kinky Curly Knot Today: This stuff is the TRUTH! I started using KCKT when I was transitioning and my hair was seriously tangled all the time. It helped so much. I honestly think that it works whether you are relaxed, transitioning or natural. I love it so much, I purchased a bottle for my sisters because my baby sis cries a lot on wash days. I wish this product was around when I was growing up.
4) Cantu Leave In Conditioner: I randomly started using this product after I "borrowed" it from my mother's bathroom. Her and my sisters never used it, so I helped myself to it. I love how soft it leaves my hair and it smells good too.  Depending on the style, I alternate this and KCKT.

5) Curls release defining serum: This stuff is the ISH. Yes, I said ISH. This stuff curls my hair right up like no other! It is my absolute favorite product right now. I get better definition when I use it with my denman brush for my wash and gos. Let me know if you would like to see a tutorial of my Wash and Gos.

6) Carol's Daughter Heat Production Spray: I rarely use heat on my hair, so this product will last me a very long time. When I am pressed for time, I spray a bit of this protection spray and sit under my hooded dryer.

7) Coconut Oil: Honestly, I am not partial to this brand. I just happened to grab it at my local grocery store. It's pure coconut oil, so I use it to seal my hair and also for separating my coils and curls to minimize frizz.
8) ORS Deep Conditioner: Besides making my own conditioners, which is something I rarely do. I love this ORS DC. I actually have been using it way before I was natural. It leaves my hair soft and moisturized which I love.

9) Beautiful Textures Curl Control Defining Pudding: I used this product for my braid outs when I was transitioning and continue to do so now that I am natural. I love that it provides me my hair a hold but not that of a gel.

A Few Tips: If you're newly natural like myself, I suggest subscribing to monthly subscription services such as Curlbox or Cocotique. They're usually 20-25 dollars a month and it's a great way to discover new brands at a reasonable price.

I'd love to hear from you guys, so feel free to leave me comments and questions you may have and share some products you're currently using and loving.
